...We're on the Eve of Destruction...

Point One:

No one, at least no one who is honest, would ever deny that the entertainment industry is anti-Bush, anti-conservative, and anti-American. So it was no big surprise that the Dixie Chicks won so big at the Grammy’s last night. Granting five awards to a group of questionable talent is nothing more than a political statement; a response to the war in Iraq and the American way of life. Of course, the music industry has a right to make political statements. But they should be honest and call it what it is.

If the Grammy ever carried any credibility, it doesn’t now. They could give me Lyricist of the Year and it would have no meaning to me. All relevance to “good” music worthy of recognition is lost in this ridiculous anti-war statement.

Point Two:

What is the reasoning behind letting hybrid cars in the high occupancy lanes? This is another ridiculous political statement that has no connection to reality. HOV lanes are for moving traffic. Hybrids in HOV lanes will only get people killed: either in traffic accidents or through road rage.

Why, are hybrids slow or something?
